There are some great cartoons this Sunday on the President and the mid-terms. Here are a few.
First from Signe Wilkinson
Another view of the President and Congress from Nick Anderson.
And my favorite from Stuart Carlson.
I have to think that President Obama is expecting the Republican Congress to erect roadblocks and force him to veto some of their legislation (like repealing the Affordable Care Act), but I’m not sure there are many Republicans left who understand that their job is to actually govern. We shall see.
Unfortunately for the Governor, it seems all too easy to make fun of him and to imagine life if he were to become President.
From Nick Anderson
But, don’t forget. He’s not a bully.
We need to keep a sense of humor about things so we can survive this Republican tantrum. Here is my contribution.
Dan Wasserman from the Boston Glove.
Nick Anderson on Ted Cruz.
Carlson on Infant nutrition.
The new axis of evil?
There were wonderful thing said by some of the Justices today, but I want to concentrate on the cartoons. Here are three from the Washington Post.
First Pat Oliphant.
I love the duck in the corner reminding everyone that this is the same court that gave us corporations as people.
Moving on to Tom Toles.
And finally Nick Anderson.
Do we have to say more?
Last night I watched the local news as well as New England Cable News and the Rachel Maddow show. Everyone had their Rubio water bottle thing, including the weather and sports people. Is this news as parody? Or just another way to talk about something everyone is discussing?
Here are some cartoonist views of the Rubio incident.
Nick Anderson and the Poland Springs hat.
And Tom Toles
Note the kool aid and tea references.
I’m sure there will be more to come. This may not end Rubio’s political future for a Presidential run, but you can bet it will end up being like Mitt Romney’s dog on the roof of his car.
Sometime a picture or drawing is worth more than all the words one can write. Here are a few selections from my favorite cartoonists.
From Matt Bors : Armed Society, Polite Society
Nick Anderson on one response to Newtown.
And Pat Oliphant on what we should do with assault weapons.
Finally, Tony Auth on the NRA’s problem.
Sometimes you just have to laugh.
I’m not sure why any women would vote for Mitt Romney. His positions are flipping all over the place. It is not clear he is for equal pay and his position on the right to choose is also changing daily. Despite the liberal/progressive mocking of “binders full of women”, I don’t think a lot of women get it. The bottom line: if Mitt Romney is elected you can kiss Roe v. Wade good-bye. Don’t forget that Mitt has said that he believes that life begins a conception. Will the Republicans in Congress let him support abortion in the cases of rape, incest, and to save the life the women? I doubt it. I hope most women continue to get it and that women who are wavering waver back toward President Obama. I don’t understand it and I’m getting anxious since women are a big key to the election.
So to cheer us up, here is some election humor.
Nick Anderson on the Multiple Mitts.
Mike Luckovich Binders.
And Matt Wueker
You have to keep laughing.
